The Job
Senior Technical Writer will produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our product and mentor other technical writers. They will create technical documents such as product manuals, release notes, how-to videos, troubleshooting guides, and other technical documents for both internal and external users of Logpoint.
Technical Writing is a job that requires writers to communicate information in a way that is clear and easy to understand. But that is not all. Writers will also be testing and researching new technology. A job where they need to identify what people need to achieve and then get to explain how they can achieve it.
As a Senior Technical writer, they’ll be embedded in product teams to tackle complex problems and produce helpful, informative guides for our customers. As part of our cross-functional UX team, they’ll set the example for best practices in user-centered Technical Writing amongst your peers.
Roles and responsibilities
- Produce high-quality product documentation (Guides, Release Notes, Troubleshooting documents, How-to videos, and other documentation as required) for various product lines that help customers understand and use the products.
- Mentor a team of technical writers to maintain the existing documentation.
- Work closely with the subject matter experts (Software Developers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Project Managers, Product Owners, and other SMEs) and gather technical information to write, update, and revise documentation.
- Create interactive videos for major product features.
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text and online help.
- Help build our terminology list and other foundational team tools.
- Help refine our voice, tone, and writing standards.
- Help improve the web-hosted documentation portal.
- Conduct peer reviews for grammar, style, and format.
- Mentor and groom new hires in the team.
- Help with the onboarding of new members.
- Support the Documentation Lead for Roadmap planning and training needs for the team.
- Formulate documentation processes, guidelines, and team goals.
- Conduct technical interviews and provide comprehensive feedback for relevant positions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Information Management/Information Technology/Computer Engineering, or any related field.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity, networking, and related domain.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience creating content for a technical audience, including product documentation.
- Portfolio of writing samples – must include an example demonstrating your skill at communicating technical content to customers.
- Outstanding written communication skills to communicate to a technical audience.
- Experience working with technologies (e.g., software or hardware systems) by investigation, experimentation (e.g., reading or running code), and/or interactions with subject matter experts (SMEs).
