Information Technology Officer
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and servers.
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly.
- Install, configure, and update computer systems and software.
- Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the overall reliability and integrity of IT systems.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Develop and implement disaster recovery and backup procedures.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Train employees on proper use of hardware and software applications.
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
Experience:
- Experience of working with international NGO.
- Experience of working with volunteers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Officer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
- Proficiency in operating systems, including Windows and/or Linux.
- Experience with hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and ability to implement security measures.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Project management skills for overseeing IT projects.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: IT Professional) are a plus.
