Information Technology Officer

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, and servers.
• Provide technical support to end-users, addressing hardware and software issues promptly.
• Install, configure, and update computer systems and software.
• Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the overall reliability and integrity of IT systems.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide appropriate solutions.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and implement disaster recovery and backup procedures.
• Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to make recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Train employees on proper use of hardware and software applications.
• Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.

Experience:

• Experience of working with international NGO.
• Experience of working with volunteers

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an IT Officer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks, and infrastructure.
• Proficiency in operating systems, including Windows and/or Linux.
• Experience with hardware installation, configuration, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and ability to implement security measures.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Project management skills for overseeing IT projects.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: IT Professional) are a plus.
