As the Destination Head for Canada, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of travel and tourism services in Canada. You will work towards the development and implementation of strategies that promote the destination to potential travelers. You will be responsible for promoting tourism in the region, analyzing and understanding customer behavior, creating and coordinating events to attract them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, develop, and execute tourism marketing strategies that promote travel to Canada
- Responsible for collaborating with DMCs (Destination Management Companies), travel agencies and travel operators to promote travel to Canada
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with tourism stakeholders including airlines, hotels, tour operators, and local businesses to create integrated tourism experiences for travelers to the region
- Create and manage annual operating budgets to ensure departmental objectives are met
- Develop and manage all customer touchpoints including the company’s website, social media channels, email newsletters, and tour promotions
- Direct all marketing communication and advertising planning, execution, and measurement
- Lead, motivate and manage a team to ensure that operational objectives are met
- Analyze customer behavior to identify market trends and tailor marketing strategies accordingly
- Identify, develop and coordinate events that showcase the destination and its attractions to the target customer base
- Act as the primary spokesperson for Canada and its tourism industry.
Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, tourism or related field.
- At least 7-10 years of professional experience in Destination Management Services
- Experience managing an annual operating budget and KPI measurement
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategies for travel and tourism
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Knowledge of the tourism industry and travel/tourism trends
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze customer behavior data
- The ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
- Experience managing a team, leading employees, and leading by example.
