We are seeking a Database Administrator to join our team and take responsibility for the management, maintenance, and security of our company’s databases. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and availability of our data while also optimizing database performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related applications.
- Create and maintain database structures, tables, and schemas.
- Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Implement and maintain data backup and recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database queries.
- Ensure data security and implement access controls.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as indexing and data purging.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related problems.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in database administration.
- Document database configurations, procedures, and guidelines.
- Provide on-call support for database-related emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.
- Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
- Strong knowledge of database design and SQL.
- Familiarity with data backup, recovery, and security protocols.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information:
- This is a full-time position.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for maintenance and upgrades.
- The Database Administrator will report to the IT Manager or Director of IT, depending on the organizational structure.
